[Bonus] JYP Entertainment Girl Group Member Tier List

Here's the project of the month. All members that have ever been under any JYP Entertainment girl group exists on this graphic. Wonder Girls, miss A, 15&, Twice, and Itzy span over a decade of history under the JYP flag so this should be fun. How am I determining placements? It's gonna be a combination of their group, music, contributions, legacy, with a little bias sprinkled on top. Naturally I've strayed away from doing art pieces with blog posts but this was too much fun to ignore. Maybe I'll get addicted to making these scuffed graphics again, who knows.

D Tier: Lia, Chaeryeong, Yerin, Jimin, Hyuna
Reminder that these are ordered left to right within tiers. Thus, Hyuna starts us off in dead last. Of course, her extremely short stint with the Wonder Girls is the major reason. And then there's 15&, the unfortunate queens of inefficiency and mismanagement (or simply lack of care). They were extremely unproductive during their time together, with just five singles across their seven years before disbandment. Rounding out the bottom tier we have an Itzy duo. Both members have a chance to grow alongside their group, but for now their bland status relegates them here.

C Tier: Yuna, Jia, Chaeyoung, Hyerim, Fei, Dahyun
Dahyun starts off C Tier, and it's more thanks to her variety power than rapping power. Chaeyoung is a few points ahead of her in that department which explains the separation between the two. In the middle is Fei and Hyerim, who have made some waves within their respective groups (Fei's solo work, Hyerim's versatility) but are largely overshadowed by everyone else. When Jia left the company, she left as the second best girl group rapper so that counts for something. Yuna is the middle child of interest and potential within Itzy and misses the cutoff for the next tier if only slightly.

B Tier: Sohee, Ryujin, Min, Jungyeon, Nayeon, Sunye, Yeji
The most diverse tier of the bunch also happens to be the largest (not out of the ordinary for tier lists). Sunye edges out Yeji because of huge amounts of legacy points. Nayeon and Jungyeon make up the middle of the B Tier sandwich with their vocals. Min's ability to do whatever was asking for her is impressive, and she's one of the most well-rounded members in label history. I'm investing hella stock in Ryujin because she could be JYPE's best girl group rapper since Yubin. Don't fail me girl. Finally, one of the OG crushes in Sohee pushes herself all the way to the top of this tier.

A Tier: Momo, Sana, Sunmi, Mina, Jihyo
While I've turned my opinions on Jihyo as a vocalist around since her debut days, it's not enough for her to topple the Japanese triplets within her group. They are simply way too powerful. Mina does get cut off by Sunmi though. Despite Sunmi making it big in her career after JYP, she was part of two eras of the Wonder Girls and her foundations for the current superstar solo status started with "24 Hours" and "Full Moon," which of course were released when she was still in the company.

S Tier: Suzy, Yubin, Tzuyu, Yeeun
Now we have the final four. Yeeun is not only a gifted singer, but is the only member to span the entirety of Wonder Girls' run. Coupled with the legendary status of the group, she is absolutely deserving of the highest tier. Next comes Tzuyu, who has followed in Suzy's footsteps with her iconic visuals. Twice are omega popular, and she likely has the most brand recognition on an international level. Yubin's ability as a rapper cannot be praised enough. She makes everyone else that came after look like total scrubs between her power, flow, and range. Plus she had a couple solo efforts under JYP before creating her own music label. But that certainly can't qualify her for the #1 spot. That goes to the Nation's First Love in Suzy. No other JYP idol has a title of that degree. Suzy is Bae and she reached prolific heights thanks to her looks and acting chops. Don't be fooled into thinking she's just a pretty face because she grew tremendously as a singer too, culminating in her best vocal work at the tail end of her contract. While we may not see or hear her in music videos again, her time with miss A and JYP has put her on a pedestal above all her other labelmates.
