[Misc] Thought Corner: Goodnight Irene

Oh Irene, you fool. There's been quite the commotion surrounding her over the last couple of days. I'll spare you the details because I'm lazy and also not fully informed but man. Irene's been putting in work in the wrong departments. To sum things up in one sentence? Irene harasses people verbally and people are bring it to light. There hasn't been released evidence or anything like that sure, but the fact that Irene had to post an apology and meet with the accuser personally says everything. You truly wonder what was said on that recording...

People dumb enough to think this type of behavior is the exception rather than the norm are not people you'd want to try and have a debate with anyway. Face it: this type of shit is rooted and it's who people are inside. She let her true colors show and now the people she's attacked are fighting back. Good on them for (according to some, finally) coming forward and mounting a defense. Yeah she came out and apologized, but that only (near) guarantees the accusations were all true. Damage control aside, it's not a good look for her, Red Velvet, or SM.

Speaking of SM, how sightless are they that Irene's attitude and behavioral issues have been a thing for a while and they've (seemingly) done nothing about it. Did they seriously think something would not come back to haunt them? They're looking like fools all around now. As for Red Velvet's future, who knows. They already had the shitshow with Wendy's injury and this timing could not have been more awful. Hilariously enough SM have released some new teaser with many speculating that it could be for the new girl group. I guess the Red Velvet sacrifice gods stop for no one. Not even their own.

Not mad, just disappointed. All idols wear a mask, but for Irene to let hers crack (and in such a fashion) is pretty fucking sad. Oh well, I'm sure if this was back in my more invested days I'd be more affected. Nowadays and with how 2020 has been going, I simply shrug my shoulders and sigh. Seulgi and Irene had constantly battled for the spot of best Red Velvet girl. That debate has been settled.
