With four heavyweight candidates already in the finals, it's time to discover the underdog participants. Rising and Nugu Brackets are inferior but only in name and status. Attractiveness is not bound to a group or their success. But what am I doing this is too much effort and writing for a fucking beauty contest. Continuing on, here's Rising Bracket.
Finally, a #1 seed makes it to second round. JiU handled her business, as did others in some completely lopsided matchups: Kyulkyung over Jiyoung and Somin over Chaeyeon to name a couple. Other matchups were boring to me. Like Yujin vs. Yuna. I think both are pretty weak but one person still has to win. Speaking of reluctant victors, I'm astounded Jiae is considered the visual of Lovelyz. There's at least three other members I'd pick as visual before her, but because of her competition she made it to quarterfinals. Thankfully Doyeon shuts that train down real quick. The other winner, Sonamoo's Nahyun, had some fierce fights against Kyulkyung and Bona but through determination (read: coinflips) she pulled through.
These were tough because Google couldn't provide much. So that made most matchups pretty difficult. There were obvious winners like Yun (another 16th seed winning) and Sohee (battle of repeat visual names), but almost everything else had me scratching my head. Due to the unknowns of the representatives, Tahiti's Jerry ekes out of this set. Yeonwoo and Rui immediately went head-to-head in the second round and Rui got unlucky because if she was on the opposite side of the bracket she'd have easily continued on. But alas Yeonwoo is the stronger visual and finished the job. Now all eight participants for the finale are set. Who will be crowned the top girl group visual in 2018? The gauntlet will go down on Wednesday.
